We Will Be Ok!

Many of you have read the Associated Press has declared that Joe Biden will be the 46th President of the United States of America. As I read the article I immediately thought about the fear and concern of so many people right now. While I typically try to stay away from political topics I feel right now no pastor could do so. It dominates so much of our culture right now and to ignore it would be foolish. We as leaders need to be the voice that brings peace to turbulence.

With that being stated, I will tell you how I feel. I will tell how Ray Keen thinks and will proceed from here. I am as pro-life as one can be. Of all the issues this is the biggest one for me. I have fostered and adopted so I feel that I can speak with clarity on this matter. Life should always be a priority to a believer. Also, I believe the process for adoption should be overhauled to give more children a chance and another potential option for mothers faced with this difficult decision. Now more than ever we should give as much to pregnancy care centers as the left tries to give to Planned Parenthood. Christians should always be in favor of protecting life in any circumstance. My concern honestly is I know that our President-elect (According to the AP) is favorable for the right to choose. I know the VP is a far-left as a politician can be. I know this is a big concern for many Christians and believers. Those of us to the right of the political spectrum are concerned about what four years may look like.

However, I would encourage all Christians to think back to the wide range of kings the Israelites encountered in the Old Testament. Not all of them aligned with their belief systems. Not all of them were favorable to God. However, they survived and made it. I am a huge proponent of the power of hope. Now more than ever as the church we must be bearers of life and hope. The sky has not fallen because Joe Biden was announced to be our next President. Jesus is not shocked by this nor should it shock His church.

If this is the case. Ray Keen will pray for President Biden. Ray Keen will pray that President Biden would allow the voice of God's people to speak into his life. Ray Keen would pray that some pastor would have that opportunity. If Ray Keen was on that level he would willingly serve to be a voice because I feel that it is vitally important. Ray Keen will pray for civility and peace in our nation. Ray Keen will still be patriotic and love this country. Most of all Ray Keen will still preach and live out the hope of Jesus alone. Politics will not save us. Men or Women in Leadership will not correct our brokenness. Only a relationship with Jesus will change the hearts of people. I love our country but my first citizenship is heaven and I know that leader is the same yesterday, today, and will be tomorrow.

My advice and guidance would be no matter who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave let us be salt of the earth and light that shines bright. My desire is to be a city on a hill that leads broken people to a place of refuge. We will be fine. This country will be fine. Our mandate is to render to Cesar what belongs to Cesar and give to God what belongs to Him. For a believer, we (our lives) belong to him. That is where I will give all my passion and focus. I pray for the peaceful transfer of power and pray that the Church would rise to the occasion and be what Jesus has called us to be. I stand firm in the words of Jesus that he promised in 1 Peter 5:7 concerning any anxiety I may feel. I will cast all my anxiety upon him because he cares for me. I am going to love my church, love the people in my life, raise my kids, watch the Jaguars, and continue to do all that God has called me to do. Do not let this moment in time fool you God's Word is still true. All things work for the good of those who believe. We will see a victory for His Church!
